Hardness Test Kit for Boiler Water

This water testing kit tests for Total Hardness (calcium and magnesium hardness) by using the dropper bottle method.

Simple and accurate drop-count test kit, it measures water hardness as a french degree (0.5 °F or f) which defined as 5 mg/L CaCO3 (5 ppm).

Widely used to measure total hardness of all types of water with low to moderate level hardness, also used for testing boiler water and industrial process water.

It includes all the reagents necessary to perform water hardness test required to effectively test and monitor system waters to ensure optimum operating conditions are achieved and maintained.

Range/sensitivity is 1 drop = 5 ppm (0.5°f) CaCO3. (test tube filled to 10ml).

Number of tests: around 625 french degrees (drops).

With this water hardness testing kit, simply count the number of drops required to change the solution colour from red to green to determine hardness concentration, when test tube filled to 10m each drop = 5 ppm CaCO3 total hardness (number of drops = total sample hardness in °F as CaCO3). This Colour change from red to green is the endpoint of the titration.
If one drop produces a green colour, total hardness is < 5 ppm.

Water testing kit contains:

  • 1 x 25ml titrant hardness bottle.
  • 1 x 15ml indicator hardness bottle
  • 1 x 15ml reagent hardness A bottle
  • 1 x 10-20 ml measuring tube
  • Test instructions paper
