Hard Water Softener Replacement Resin, EXTREPURE® 001×8
It is mainly designed for industrial water softening and demineralisation, but can also be used in household water softening equipment.
EXTREPURE® 001×8 Softener Replacement Resin has the characteristics of good exchange capacity and physical stability. It is a cation exchange resin with a sulfonic acid group (-SO3H) on the copolymer of styrene and divinylbenzene crosslinked to 8%.
Supplied in its sodium form, The high excellent mechanical strength and good ion exchange kinetics makes it a good general purpose resin in different applications.
Used to soften water, It reduces the concentration of calcium and magnesium, it is regenerated with a brine solution (sodium chloride - Slat).
Sodium softener resins exchange calcium and magnesium ions into sodium ions, which soften water.

What is a Water Softener Resin?
Softening Resin is a strong cation exchange resin supplied in its sodium form, it is normally used to soften hard water. Water hardness is usually calculated as Ca2+ and Mg2+.
Softener Resin exchanges the hardness minerals (calcium and magnesium) dissolved in water for sodium. This soft mineral is contained on the softener resin beads and does not build up on surfaces as scale deposits.
The softener resin is regenerated with a brine solution (salt).
