What is inside, and what the KDF-55 maker says
Two media: KDF-55 and granular activated carbon.
Kymera International, which makes KDF process media, says KDF-55 medium removes chlorine, even in hot water.
Fitting it to your shower
It has a standard 1/2 inch thread with male and female ends, to fit most shower fittings. It is 15 cm high and 5 cm across.
- Take the hose or shower head off.
- Screw the filter on and tighten to stop leaks.
- Put your hose or shower head back on.
Before first use, flush it for 10 seconds. Use it on a biologically safe water supply.
More than one shower at home?

There is no cartridge: you change the whole unit about every 3 to 4 months, so keep a spare ready.

- MDC 7-Stage Shower Filter: 7 stages in an aluminium housing, with a cartridge that twists off and on. It also works with rain-style heads.

What does KDF mean in a water filter?
Kymera International says KDF is short for kinetic degradation fluxion, and describes KDF media as high-purity copper and zinc.
How often should I replace a KDF shower filter?
Change the whole unit every 3 to 4 months.
Will it fit a handheld shower head?
Yes. It works with wall-mounted and handheld shower heads.
Can a shower filter help with eczema?
A shower filter is not a treatment for eczema or any skin condition. Talk to your doctor about your skin.

Having only just installed this new product, i cannot give a 5 star rating as as we don't as yet have long term results. However the product itself is sturdiily constructed and is very easy to install. If it does what it claims longer term, then it will be bworth the expenditue.
